ABOUT
GRANT ME JUSTICE.
Since our founding in 2021, Grant Me Justice has been committed to making a lasting impact in the City of Jackson and beyond. Sadly, since our inception, there have been 464 homicides in our city, and we are proud to have supported 17% of those victims’ families, however we have a very long way to go.
OUR MISSION.
Our mission is to advocate for the rights of victims, provide awareness of the effects of homicide, and directly support the spiritual, emotional, and financial needs of murder victims. We are the extended hand, the truly safe space that gives voice to the victim.
OUR APPROACH.
We recognize that the effects of homicide extend far beyond the immediate loss. Families face emotional trauma, financial strain, and the daunting task of navigating the criminal justice system. Our initiatives and resources are designed to holistically support these families, addressing their spiritual, emotional, and financial needs our programs and services include:
-
Advocacy: Understanding legal processes can be overwhelming for grieving families. We offer information, education, and guidance to help them navigate court proceedings, ensuring they receive the justice they deserve.
-
Awareness: Through community outreach, workshops, and awareness campaigns, we keep the community abreast of the effects of the more than 700 homicides since 2018 to our community.
-
Direct Support: We provide personalized support to families, including grief counseling, financial assistance, and emotional guidance. Our team walks alongside them, offering a truly safe space where they can express their pain and find solace.
OUR PARTNERSHIPS.
Grant Me Justice is committed to turning no family away and providing every family with the resources they need to heal holistically. Since our inception in 2021, God has faithfully led us to partnerships that have allowed us to serve our families well. These include churches, foundations, and even local businesses and organizations. We dare not discount the generous individuals who give to ensure that we are able to provide the services these families so desperately need. Many faithfully give financially, while others, like Ms. Glorya Robins, a local quilter, donates her time to turn the clothing of homicide victims into beautiful, quilted works of art. Finally, because of our partnerships with the Counseling Center at RTS and The Net, we are able to sponsor counseling sessions, making counseling accessible to families that really need it.
